What is BlogPatcher?

Also, you can run a full scan of your website to check the on-page SEO score of all your pages!
Best of all, using all these features is a breeze!
But before we discuss the first feature, I’ll like you to know that BlogPatcher uses a credit system.
For free accounts, you have a finite number of credits you can use to test out the tool and its basic features.
For every page your analyze, you use up 20 credits.
For keywords, you spend 10 credits.
It sounds simple in theory, but the key is analyzing the right pages. If you mistakenly enter the wrong page, then you just wasted your credits for nothing. So proceed with caution.
Once the credits run out, you need to subscribe to its paid plans so you can analyze more pages and keywords. More importantly, you gain access to its premium features which we will discuss later.
Got it? Good. Let’s discuss the first feature:
If you already have a target keyword for your page and want to analyze how optimized it is, then go straight to the Page Analysis feature by clicking on it from the menu.
Once you do, enter the URL and your keyword on the text bar.
Now, if you’re optimizing your content for a different country than USA, then choose the right now from the drop-down menu.
Once everything is set, hit “Start Analysis.”
Give BlogPatcher a couple of minutes to work its magic and compute for your page’s SEO score.
Once finished, you must click on the link to view the report.
You will then see something similar to this:
The first section of the report is the Overview. You can see the different SEO metrics that BlogPatcher used to check your content. Each also has a score out of 100 to show how optimized your content is.
Let’s delve into each of the following SEO metrics:
This section analyzes your page whether or not you used your target keyword on the most important elements of your page and how.
Below are the page elements in question:
- Meta description
BlogPatcher will then identify which elements where you should mention your target keyword to improve your score.
Another factor that the Page Analysis checks is the Word Count.
It shows how many words you have in your content and compares it to the average word count of the top 10 pages appearing for your keyword.
Finally, the Keyword Usage score graph shows how much you’re using your target keyword in your post. The higher the score, the better.
If you want to know how often you mentioned your keyword in your content, then this feature will help shed light on the issue.
Ideally, you want to mention your keyword as much as possible in your post to help it rank on organic search higher. However, there’s also a risk of using it too much that it makes your content look spammy.
This BlogPatcher feature shows you whether or not your content is guilty of keyword stuffing.
As you can see, the page above doesn’t have that issue. So good job for me!
But if the page you’re analyzing is stuffing keywords, then you need to fix it to prevent the risk of not ranking on Google search.
Readability and Sentiment
People don’t want to read content that they can’t understand.
It has to do with a variety of factors such as the type of words used, poor grammar, long sentences, and others.
Arguably the easiest way to analyze a content’s readability is by referring to the Flesch-Kincaid readability score.
The higher your readability score, the more reason people will read your post.
More importantly, the higher the likelihood that your page will rank on organic search results!
BlogPatcher not only gives your readability score, but it also reviews the sentiment of your content in relation to the top 10 results.
Your page should compare favorably with the average sentiment of all pages to help set your page to rank properly.
The value that LSI or latent semantic indexing keywords bring to your post isn’t publicized enough.
LSI keywords refer to words and phrases that have a strong connection with your target keyword.
By using these keywords to complement your main one, you help increase the relationship of your content with your target keyword.
Also, you don’t have to mention the same target keyword over and over again. You can diversify using LSI keywords and prevent keyword stuffing.
With BlogPatcher, the LSI Keywords feature is arguably its strongest suit.
It identifies the most common keywords used across the top 10 results for the keyword. All you need to do now is find a way to mention these words and phrases to make your content similar to the top-ranking pages.
Another cool part of this section is the Related Search Phrases. It shows you similar keywords to your target one that you can mention in the post.
Pick and choose which among the keywords fit best in your content and edit it accordingly.
Best yet, with a paid subscription, you can access to the related search terms and their respective search volume!
Identify relevant keywords to use in your post and their search volumes so you can prioritize which ones to use on the best elements of your page (H1, image alt tag, meta description, etc.).
Search spiders read more than what they see on your page.
They also check the Schema markup of your page. It informs the spiders about the content and helps them identify where to rank it on organic search.
And while ordered lists and tables are not necessary for your content, then still improve your content’s readability by ordering your text and making them more palatable to readers.
With the Structured Content section, you get to see how you can improve your content for these factors.
Let’s face it – nobody wants to read a wall of text for your content.
You need to include rich and dynamic content like images and videos in your post to keep visitors engaged!
BlogPatcher checks your content if you have rich media and compares it to the top 10 results for your keyword. It should compare favorably by meeting the average number of images and videos used.
If not, you need to edit your page and include dynamic content to make your post much more interesting for readers.
Social media has little relationship to SEO.
But, at the very least, you want your content to look good on social media when people share it there.
After all, the snippets they see on social media from your post will determine whether or not they should click it.
And if they do, that’s additional traffic for your content.
Better yet, if visitors enjoyed your content after clicking, they might even link to it on their site!
What BlogPatcher does in relation to this is figure out if you’re using Facebook Open Graph and Twitter Cards on your post.
Setting them up properly will help your page stand out from the pack!
SEO Action Plan
This feature appears on the Overview section with the lightbulb icon. Click on it to show you the step-by-step process on how to optimize your page.
Despite how actionable this tool is in showing you how to optimize your content, some people need the information delivered on a silver platter to be able to do it.
With BlogPatcher’s SEO Action Plan, people now have the keys to drive their website to SEO success.
It breaks down the data from the Page Analysis feature and tells you exactly what you need to do to make your content more optimized.
At this point, it would be impossible not to take action on your site!
Now, let’s say you have no idea what your target keyword for your page is.
Since entering the keyword on the Page Analysis is optional, that shouldn’t be a problem now, right?
When doing SEO, you need to manually research the target keyword and find out the best one to optimize for your content.
That’s where the Keyword Analysis feature comes in handy.
Click on this feature from the menu to show the page where you can enter your keyword.
At this point, you have no idea what your keyword is. But you can search for the topic of your page and this feature will help narrow down the results for you.
For the country, change it to the right if you’re optimizing for a different country other than the USA.
Then hit “Start Analysis.”
After a few minutes, you need to click to view the report and see something like this:
The Overview section shows the basic metrics that you need to know about the keyword or topic.
The Difficulty takes into account all the factors related to organic search. The higher the score, the lower your chances of ranking for this page.
That said, you need to target keywords will lower Difficulty scores. You will see this later in the LSI Keywords section.
The Search Volume shows how frequent people search for the keyword. Thus, you need to choose a keyword with a high search volume to help boost your site traffic once you start ranking for it.
The next two factors, CPC and Competitor, relate to PPC. If you’re buying Google ads, then you need to find keywords with low figures for both.
Finally, the Relevance factor. This is important because it lets you determine how many of the pages ranking in the top 10 results for the keyword are valuable to the keyword.
If the Relevance score for the keyword is low, then it’s time for you to create content optimized for this keyword!
Let’s discuss the other sections of the post:
Also known as search engine result page, this section shows the top 10 pages ranking for the keyword.
It shows the follow data for each result:
- Alexa Ranking
- Inbound links
- Strength Index
Not much to see here since the tool doesn’t let you delve deeper into the figures.
At the very least, it shows how relevant each page is in SERP. You need to review the highest-scoring ones and figure out how they analyze the content.
Similar to the one from Page Analysis, the Keyword USage section here shows you how the keyword appears on the different page elements such as headings, meta tags, and more.
Common Entities and Keywords
This section shows the keywords shared amongst the top 10 results for the keyword.
The goal is to find a way to incorporate them in your article once you find the right one.
This section shows the different phrases mentioned in the top 10 posts.
There’s also a graph that shows you which pages mentioned which keywords.
Now, this section is very useful for users who entered their topic as the keyword and looking for better and more specific ones to optimize their site.
Refer to this section to find which keywords to analyze and target.
Prioritize the keywords based on search volume. You want to rank for a keyword that people search the most.
Readability and Sentiment Comparison
I’m lumping both sections here since they do the same for the top 10 pages.
Refer to these to understand how readable the pages are. The goal is to find the most readable (the one with the higher bar graph) and replicate the writing style to your page.
For the sentiment, find how positive, negative, or neutral the pages are and create something that’s out of the norm. For instance, if all pages are positive, then you might want to write a negative post about the topic to tip the scales to your favor.
Finally, if you want to analyze more than one page at once, the Site Audit is for you.
You need to enter the URL your site and press Start Audit.
After viewing the report of the audit, you will see something like this:
It shows the status of your website in relation to the tested pages. The audit report also shows the errors, warnings, and notices that each page has.
At this stage, the tool did not analyze the pages yet. It’s up to you to decide which pages to analyze based on the gravity and number of their issues.
Once you’ve decided which sites to analyze, click on the In-depth Page Analysis link on the right to initiate the Page Analysis feature.
This is a cool feature that quickly points out pages that need improvement. You can organize which pages need your utmost attention and make informed SEO decisions.
BlogPatcher saves all your analyzed websites, keywords, and pages in the Reports page.
You also have the option to refresh the analysis and see if the edits you make on the page made any difference to the score.
Also, you can either share the report by making it publish and sharing the link to your team members. If you’re working with an SEO team, then this feature will do wonders for collaboration and efficiency.
Lastly, you can publish the page analysis so Google can crawl the page. This is an interesting feature because it lets you link back to your site by publishing the post. It’s a win-win for you and BlogPatcher!
BlogPatcher released a WordPress plugin of its tool. You should now be able to run audits and keyword analyses straight from WordPress.
First, download the tool here. Then upload and install it on as many WordPress sites you own. What’s important here is that you should have enough credits to analyze the pages of your site.
Next, create a new post or edit an old one. Scroll down the page to see something like this:
Enter your login details and the keyword under the Page Analysis Focus keyword. Then click “Fetch Page Analysis” to see the results.
But to make the plugin work, you need to make sure that you already analyzed the page on the BlogPatcher site. If not, then you need to do that first before you can extract the results here.
Suggestion: Users should be able to analyze pages and keywords straight from the WordPress plugin. It’s counter-intuitive if you need to run a page/keyword analysis on the site first before you can access the data from the plugin.
Click on the graduation hat icon to check the on-page SEO factors of your post.
Click on the users icon to show you information about the top 10 competitors on SERPs for the target keyword:
Lastly, clicking on the Key icon will show you common keywords that your competitors are using in their content:
If the keywords are inside the green outline box, it means that you already mentioned them in the content. Therefore, focus on the ones in orange and find a way to incorporate them.
You can also see search phrases related to your keywords. Not all of the keywords here are applicable to your post, so make sure to only use the most relevant ones.
Once you’ve entered the keywords and phrases in your post, click on the Refresh button at the top right to update the results.
